Space Shuttle Endeavour over Griffith Park

After several missions, the Space Shuttle Endeavour was retired to the California Space Center. Transporting the shuttle required flying it piggybacked on a Boeing plane, then towing it through city streets to the museum. These days were truly historic for Los Angeles. Before landing the Shuttle at the LA Airport, it was taken on a "victory lap" circling the greater Los Angeles area and flying over major landmarks. Griffith Park and the Griffith Observatory lawn saw one of the biggest crowds it had ever seen. I climbed further up the hill to get this view, capturing the flyover, and the historic crowd of people there to see it.
